When this occurs, many dog owners turn to dog obedience trainers to correct their dog’s behavior problem.

Job Description:

A career as a dog obedience trainer involves conditioning a dog to obey its master’s commands. Dog obedience trainers use a combination of voice commands, physical contact and positive reinforcement to train dogs to obey and to perform a variety of tasks. Some dog obedience trainers condition dogs to serve as guide dogs, police dogs or rescue dogs. Depending on the age of the dog and the type of training required, dog obedience training can last anywhere from a few sessions to several months. Dog obedience trainers may work with young puppies that are learning for the first time or with full grown dogs that have behavior problems. Dog obedience trainers work with pet owners as well as their pets. They must help owners to learn the proper ways to interact with their pets in order to encourage good behavior.
